Online Gaming Law in India
भारत में ऑनलाइन गेमिंग कानून, PROG Act 2025 की धाराएँ 5–7, और यह साइट क्या दर्ज करती है—इस पेज पर संक्षेप में। 18+।
This page is a reading aid for the Indian legal position. It is not legal advice and it does not replace a opinion from a qualified lawyer who knows the facts.
The 2025 Act
The Promotion and Regulation of Online Gaming Act, 2025 prohibits online money games in India. The prohibition is not limited to a particular app or a particular state. It covers a game played for a payment in the expectation of a return, and it reaches the surrounding promotion and payment surfaces.
Sections 5, 6 and 7
- Section 5 addresses providing, assisting or inducing participation in a prohibited online money game.
- Section 6 addresses direct or indirect promotion of a prohibited online money game.
- Section 7 addresses payment and financial facilitation.
The exact scope of each provision, and the defences that may apply, are questions for a lawyer. This page only explains why the site does not carry offers, download calls or operator promotions for prohibited records.
The 2026 Rules
The Promotion and Regulation of Online Gaming Rules, 2026 set out implementation detail, including the treatment of online money games and the obligations that follow. The rules were notified in 2026; the site’s editorial cut-off for this page is 28 October 2026.
What this site does
We document public interfaces, file facts and advertised claims. We do not accept stakes, run a promo, provide an APK for a prohibited record or assert that a product is lawful. Three non-money records may link to a Google Play listing; the link is a store reference, not a legal clearance.
State variations
State law can add requirements or restrictions. A central prohibition does not automatically answer every local question. If you need a position for a particular state or a particular product, take legal advice.
Reporting
To report a factual error on this site, use Corrections. To report a suspected illegal operator or a fraud, use the appropriate government or cybercrime channel; this site cannot investigate an operator.
